HOUSE ALUMNI CONTACT
How to stay connected to Phoenix House and your recovery community after graduation · Nampa, Idaho
Graduating from Phoenix House is a huge accomplishment, but staying connected to the people and community that supported you doesn’t have to end there. Many residents find that ongoing alumni connection is one of the most powerful tools for maintaining long-term recovery.
Why Stay Connected
Leaving the structure of the house is a major transition. Staying in touch with alumni and staff gives you a safety net and a way to give back to current residents.
- Access to a support network that already understands your story
- Opportunities to mentor current residents as a peer example
- Invitations to alumni events, meetups, and celebrations
- A place to turn if you’re struggling and need extra support
Staying connected isn’t a sign you still need help — it’s one of the best ways to protect the progress you’ve already made.
How to Stay Connected
Option 1: Join the Alumni Contact List
RECOMMENDED BEFORE YOU LEAVE
Before you move out, ask staff to add you to the Phoenix House alumni contact list so you continue receiving updates about events and check-ins. Provide a phone number and email you’ll still be using after graduation.
Option 2: Attend Alumni Events
OPEN TO ALL GRADUATES
Phoenix House periodically hosts alumni gatherings, milestone celebrations, and sober social events where graduates can reconnect with staff and former housemates.
Option 3: Become a Peer Mentor
GIVE BACK
Graduates in stable recovery may have the option to return as a peer mentor or guest speaker, sharing their story with current residents. Reach out to the house directly if you’re interested.
What to Bring / Prepare
- Updated contact information (phone number, email, and mailing address)
- An emergency contact you’d like Phoenix House to keep on file
- Openness to reaching out if things get difficult — that’s what the network is for
What Happens After You Reach Out
Staff will update your contact preferences and add you to relevant alumni communications. If you request wellness check-ins, someone from the house will reach out periodically just to see how you’re doing — no obligation required.

- Consider mentoring once you’re stable — it helps you as much as it helps others.
- Keep a few housemates’ contact info as your own personal support network.
